Expansion is planned for Conestoga College's Guelph campus.

Conestoga College officials are planning an expansion involving the school’s Guelph campus, but little other information has been made public.

“While I can confirm that the college is committed to future growth to serve the Guelph community, we’re not able to provide details at this time,” wrote Brenda Cassidy, the college’s executive director of corporate communications, in an email to GuelphToday. “We look forward to making an official announcement within the next few months.”

Cassidy noted the expansion involves programming and services.

During a 2019 interview with GuelphToday, which coincided with the launch of a trades-specific Cambridge campus, Conestoga president John Tibbits said the Guelph campus would be turned into full-service within five years.

“What we want to have is a full-service programming college like we have in Kitchener. Not just social services but information technology, business, applied computer sciences, health,” said Tibbits.

That was before the pandemic, which put a pause on a wide variety of both public and private expansion plans.
