Guelph Police Service run with community for Special Olympics

A scorching hot day for police personnel to run through Guelph to support the Special Olympics

Police service personnel and community members ran through the streets of Guelph on Wednesday for the annual Law Enforcement Torch Run.

It is Ontario's 35th anniversary of the torch run.

The run helps fundraise for the Special Olympics. Money goes toward program support for Special Olympics Ontario. The Special Olympics is an organization that helps people with cognitive disabilities participate in sports.

Berlin, Germany will host the 2023 winter Special Olympics and Medicine Hat, Alberta will host the 2026 summer Special Olympics

The Guelph Police Service has been involved with the Special Olympics for over 30 years.
