16-year-old accused of threatening youth shelter staff with knife

He faces a number of weapons charges

On the morning of June 26, 2019, a 16-year-old male [allegedly] entered into a dispute with staff members at a local youth shelter. The dispute escalated and resulted in the youth threatening the staff both verbally and with a folding knife. Police located the male a short distance away from shelter, however he falsely he identified himself to officers. He was subsequently arrested for:

  • obstruct police
  • carry concealed weapon
  • weapons dangerous
  • utter threats to cause death
  • assault with a weapon
  • breach YCJA probation x3 

The accused will appear in Bail Court on June 27, 2019.

Please note that nobody was injured as a result of this incident.
