17-year-old girl charged with assault

Victim did not sustain serious injuries

On Feb. 10, 2020 at 3:30 p.m., a female student got in between a verbal argument between two male students in the hallway of a high school in the City of Guelph. [It is alleged that] another female student then ran over, grabbed the female’s hair and threw her head against the wall. She then continued the assault by punching her in the face multiple times. A teacher stepped in and separated the females.

The victim was transported to the Guelph General Hospital for treatment but did not sustain any serious injuries.

On Feb. 11, at 1:28 a.m., a 17-year-old Guelph female turned herself in to the Guelph Police Service station. She was subsequently arrested, and has been charged with assault.

She will appear in court on March 18.
