On Oct. 13, 2020 just before 2:49 p.m., an argument over money ensued between an adult male resident and an adult female worker at a group home located near the intersection of Edinburgh Road South and Gordon Street in the City of Guelph.

[It is alleged that] the male proceeded to pull a black handgun from under his bed, pointed it at the head of the female with the barrel at her temple and threatened to kill her. He then pulled the trigger, however the gun did not go off. The female started backing away, as the male followed continually pulling the trigger, but again the gun did not go off. Another worker took the gun from the male, and he fled the area. The Guelph Police Service was then contacted for assistance.

Police located the male a short distance away and he was subsequently arrested.

Further investigation revealed that the gun was a plastic replica firearm.

A 20-year-old Guelph male has been charged with:
    •    Utter threats
    •    Use imitation firearm in commission of an offence
    •    Weapons dangerous
    •    Breach probation order x2

He was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
