24-year-old accused of kicking car after leaving store empty-handed

Police say the Guelph man demanded belongings from and threatened store clerk

On Jan. 22, 2019 at approximately 2:45 a.m., (it is alleged that) a male confronted the clerk of a Macdonell Street store, demanded his belongings and threatened him. The male left the area when the clerk did not comply.

A short time later, the clerk was at his parked car when the same male walked by. That male kicked the car causing damage. Police were called and the male was located a short distance away and arrested.

The 24-year-old Guelph male has been charged with robbery, uttering threats, mischief under $5,000 and breach of probation. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
