TOWNSHIP OF CENTRE WELLINGTON - On Dec. 22, 2019, at approximately 4 p.m. Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a single-vehicle collision Wellington Road south of the Village of Elora. A grey sport utility vehicle had entered the ditch and struck a tree. Emergency service responded and the driver was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries.
On Dec. 25, 2019, the driver, Fernand Villeneuve, 92 years old of Guelph, succumbed to his injuries.
