Accused charged with criminal negligence in fatal Erin boom lift collision

TOWN OF ERIN - The Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have laid charges in relation to the Sept. 24, 2020 fatal motor vehicle collision that involved a boom lift and a passenger vehicle on Trafalgar Road at Sideroad 10 in the Town of Erin.

The driver of the passenger vehicle, Lloyd Cockburn, 59 years old of Georgetown, was pronounced dead at the scene. The operator of the boom did not require medical care.

Marc Joseph Bibeau, 50 years old of Brampton, has been charged with causing death by criminal negligence and dangerous operation causing death contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice - Guelph on Nov. 24, 2020 to answer to the charges.
