A Guelph male faces charges after he was caught on video last month driving a stolen motor vehicle and using a stolen credit card.

On April 3, two stolen vehicles were caught on video at a gas station on Woodlawn Road West. One of the vehicles was stolen from Elmira in March and the other from Halton Hills on April 2. The male driving one of the vehicles used a stolen credit card to pay for gas and other items, say police.

On Tuesday, the Guelph police learned the involved male was in custody at Maplehurst Correctional Complex on unrelated matters.

A 29-year-old Guelph male is charged with possessing stolen property under $5,000, fraud under $5,000, unauthorized use of a credit card, failing to comply with bail and breach of probation. He was held for a bail hearing Wednesday.
