Arrest made in relation to three gas theft investigations

The suspect's description and a stolen licence plate linked each of the theft occurrences

TOWNSHIP OF CENTRE WELLINGTON - On Feb. 25, 2018, Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (O.P.P.) were investigating three linked gas drive-offs.

The first occurred Feb. 22, 2018 in the Township of Middlesex Centre, the second on Feb. 14, 2018 in Arthur and the third on Feb. 25, 2018 in Fergus. The suspect's description and a stolen licence plate linked each theft of gas.

The suspect was located on Highway 6, north of Guelph on Feb. 25, 2018, at approximately 3:30 p.m. He was arrested and found to be in the possession of methamphetamine.

Thirty-one-year-old Robert William James Rolfe of Arthur has been charged with three counts of theft under $5,000 and one count of possession of methamphetamine, contrary to the Criminal Code. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph Court on April 6, 2018.
