Police say man presented a note demanding cash but left empty handed

Police are investigating after an attempted robbery at a south end business Monday evening.

Shortly before 8 p.m., officers were called to a business in the area of Scottsdale Drive and Stone Road West. Staff reported a male entered the business and presented a note demanding cash and warning against calling police. No weapon was mentioned or displayed and the suspect left empty-handed.

Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the male, who was described as a white male in his 40s wearing a black jacket over a white shirt, dark toque and black surgical mask.

The incident remains under investigation.
