A Guelph woman faces assault and weapons charges after an axe was reportedly wielded during a disturbance Wednesday evening.
Approximately 8:30 p.m. Guelph police officers responded to an address near Paisley Road and Stephanie Drive. Investigation revealed a man and woman known to each other had been involved in a verbal dispute which turned physical.
The woman held the axe over her head in a threatening manner, causing the man to fear for his life.
A 35-year-old Guelph woman is charged with assault, assault with a weapon, possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose and three counts of failing to comply with a release order. She was held for a bail hearing Thursday.
