A late-night read possibly saved a Guelph family from being victims of theft early Thursday.
At approximately 3:20 a.m. the Guelph Police Service was alerted by a homeowner in the area of Willow Road and Marksam Road, who advised she was reading when she heard a noise from her garage. She said she went to investigate but the suspect had fled.
Her garage had been entered through an unlocked door. A quantity of tools had been gathered into a bag, which was left behind.
The incident is currently under investigation.
