On Feb. 18, 2019, at approximately 11:15 p.m., a concerned citizen called the Guelph Police to report a possible impaired driver in the area of Speedvale Avenue East and Stevenson Street North. Police were able to locate the vehicle along with the driver.
An investigation resulted in a 51 year old male driver being arrested for operating a conveyance while impaired. The male was transported to the Guelph Police station where it is alleged that he had over 4.5 times the legal limit of alcohol in his body.
Shawn Rissling, a 51 year old Guelph male, has been charged with operating a conveyance while impaired and operating a conveyance with a blood alcohol concentration equal to or exceeding 80 mg of alcohol in 100 mL of blood. He was given a March 1, 2019 court date.
