Citizen report leads to impaired driving charge for Cambridge man

Police found the vehicle on Wellington Street; driver fled on foot

On Dec. 5, 2018 at approximately 11:25 p.m., Guelph Police were alerted by a concerned citizen about a possible impaired driver on Wellington Street.

Police located the vehicle as it was pulling into a parking lot on Wellington Street, and the driver got out of the car and fled on foot. The driver was arrested a short distance later for impaired driving. While at the station, the male was also charged with refusing to provide a breath sample.

Sean Stephens, a 40-year-old Cambridge male is scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 18, 2019.

The Guelph Police would like to remind the public that if you choose to drink, make alternative arrangements to get home. We want everyone to have a safe and happy holiday season.
