Cocaine, crystal meth seized during break and enter investigation

Police say the accused was also in possession of stolen credit cards and other documents

On April 26th, 2020 at 1 a.m., [it is alleged that] an adult male entered a secure residential parking garage located near the intersection of Cardigan Street and Woolwich Street in the City of Guelph. He then proceeded to look in and check vehicle doors attempting to enter them unlawfully. He eventually left the garage.

On April 27 at 8:14 a.m., police located the male in the downtown core and he was subsequently arrested. A search incident to arrest revealed 0.33 grams of crack cocaine and 2.51 grams of crystal methamphetamine. The search also revealed numerous documents not in the male’s name including a Government of Canada cheque, credit card, rewards card, debit card and pay statement.

A 46-year-old Guelph male has been charged with:
    •    Break and enter and commit
    •    Possession of stolen property over $5,000
    •    Possession of stolen credit card x2
    •    Possession Schedule I – cocaine
    •    Possession Schedule I – crystal methamphetamine
    •    Breach probation x2

He was held in custody for a bail hearing on April 27, and later released. He will appear in court on July 14.
