Collision results in $26,000 in damage. Police seek witnesses

Both drivers were transported to the Guelph General Hospital and subsequently released with minor injuries

On Jan. 2, 2018 at approximately 9:50 a.m., Guelph police were called to the intersection of Wellington Street and Edinburgh Road South. A Honda, being driven by a 32-year-old Guelph female was westbound on Wellington Street and a Nissan, driven by a 51-year-old Guelph female, was southbound on Edinburgh Road South. The two vehicles collided within the intersection.

As a result of the collision, both drivers were transported to the Guelph General Hospital and subsequently released with minor injuries. Both vehicles sustained heavy damaged, estimated to be $26,000.

The driver of the Honda was charged with failing to stop for a red light under the Highway Traffic Act.
