Crystal meth seized during traffic stop

On Oct. 7, 2020 at 9:58 p.m., police observed a motor vehicle driving without its headlights on near the intersection of Speedvale Avenue West and Edinburgh Road North in the City of Guelph. A traffic stop was initiated.

While speaking with the adult female driver, police observed a clear plastic bag containing 4.36 grams of crystal methamphetamine protruding from a purse sitting between the driver’s legs. She was subsequently arrested.

Further investigation revealed that she was also unlicensed.

A 50-year-old Guelph female has been charged with:
    •    Possession of a controlled substance (crystal methamphetamine)
    •    Drive motor vehicle - no licence

She will appear in court on Jan. 29, 2021.
