Dad charged with calling alleged victim in son's assault case

Guelph police say the dad is charged with obstructing justice for trying to suggest the female alleged victim not cooperate with the prosecution

A Guelph man is charged with obstructing justice after allegedly asking his son’s girlfriend not to proceed with charges against him.

On Oct. 30, the 18-year-old woman received a call from her boyfriend’s father. The boyfriend is currently in custody for charges including assault and breaching a release order. During the call the father suggested she not cooperate with the prosecution.

On Tuesday a 42-year-old Guelph man was arrested for obstructing justice.
