More than 10 years after an alleged sexual assault in Downtown Guelph, police have charged a 39-year-old Brampton man in relation to the incident.

In March of 2012, an adult female reported being sexually assaulted in a vehicle after leaving a licenced establishment. The report was “thoroughly investigated” at the time but no arrests were made, a Guelph police news release explains.

Following DNA testing by the Centre of Forensic Science, an arrest was made last Thursday.
