A Guelph woman was arrested this week after DNA linked her to a commercial break and enter more than a year ago.

In February, 2021, a downtown business was entered after a rear door was damaged to gain entry. A small amount of cash and approximately $5,000 worth of product was stolen from the business.

Evidence collected at the scene was submitted to the Centre of Forensic Science for DNA analysis and was eventually linked to someone on the national DNA database. That person was located at an address in downtown Guelph this week and arrested.

A 38-year-old Guelph woman is charged with break and enter, theft over $5,000 and breaching probation.
