A Guelph male was arrested Tuesday evening after allegedly stealing credit cards from the office area of a downtown business and then using the cards at a neighbouring business.

Approximately 5 p.m. the male went to the basement of a business after asking to use the washroom. He instead entered an office area where he stole credit cards belonging to two employees.

The male left the business and attended another a few doors down where he used both victims’ stolen cards for purchases. He was located by police a short time later.

A 35-year-old Guelph male is charged with theft under $5,000, possession of stolen property, two counts of unauthorized use of a credit card, fraud under $5,000 and breach of probation. He will appear in a Guelph court July 6.
