Driver escapes after car lands in water-filled hole

A woman drove a car into a water-filled construction hole early Tuesday morning.

A Guelph woman faces Highway Traffic Act charges after a vehicle became submerged in a deep hole Tuesday morning.

Police were called approximately 5:25 a.m. to the area of Speedvale Avenue West and Imperial Road North, where they discovered a vehicle completely submerged in a hole inside a construction area.

The driver and lone occupant was fortunately able to free herself from the vehicle and were not injured.
