Driving without headlights leads to impaired charge

Early on the morning of July 29, 2019, an officer observed a motor vehicle driving on the north end of the city without any headlights or tail lights illuminated. Police initiated a traffic stop and detected an odour of an alcoholic beverage on the breath of the driver. He subsequently failed a roadside approved screening device breath test and was arrested.

A 36-year-old Guelph male has been charged with drive with over 80mg of alcohol in 100ml of blood. He will appear in court on Sept. 16, 2019.
