Elderly man's walker stolen from church

Police track it down, arrest a 37-year-old woman

On the morning of Oct. 27, 2019, an elderly male using his mobility walker attended a downtown church for Sunday service when it was stolen.

The elderly male routinely attends Sunday mass with his walker. When he was leaving the church his mobility walker was gone.

Guelph Police were contacted and patrol officers started an investigation. A description of the mobility walker was broadcasted and within two hours officers were able to track it down.

The walker was returned to its owner intact which allowed him to safely get home.

A 37-year-old female was arrested and will be charged with possession of stolen property. She is scheduled to attend Provincial Court on Nov. 22, 2019.
