TOWN OF ERIN - On Feb. 3, 2020, Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a sexual assault that occurred at a group home on First Line in the Town of Erin. It was reported that a female employee was sexually assaulted on two separate occasions by a co-worker in the fall of 2019.
As a result of the investigation, Robert Doug Root, 51 years old of Guelph, was charged with two counts of sexual assault and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario court of justice - Guelph on March 13, 2020.
