A Kitchener man faces driving and drug charges following a traffic stop in Guelph Thursday.
Approximately 12:10 p.m., Guelph police were in a parking lot on Victoria Road North when they observed a vehicle driving at a very high rate of speed. The vehicle swerved into the northbound lanes to pass several other southbound vehicles as it approached a school zone.
Officers followed the vehicle and were able to stop it a short time later. The driver was arrested and a search uncovered small amounts of suspected fentanyl and methamphetamine.
A 51-year-old man is charged with dangerous driving and two counts of possessing a controlled substance.
