A Guelph female already wanted for breaking into two downtown businesses added an obstruction charge Wednesday.

Officers on patrol downtown just after 7 a.m. recognized the female, who they knew to be wanted for breaking into two businesses last week. A laptop computer, cash and cheques were among the items stolen in the break-ins, which were caught on video.

On Wednesday the female claimed she did not have identification with her and provided a false name. Investigation confirmed her true identity and she was arrested.

A 29-year-old Guelph female is charged with two counts of break and enter, theft under $5,000, breach of probation and obstruct police. She will appear in a Guelph court March 18.
