A Fergus man who has been prohibited from driving for more than a decade was arrested after being caught behind the wheel in Guelph Monday.
Approximately 4:20 p.m., Guelph Police Service officers observed a pickup truck in the area of Willow Road and Imperial Road North and believed its load to be insecure. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver acknowledged his licence was suspended.
Investigation revealed it had been suspended in 2010 pending completion of remedial measures related to an impaired driving conviction.
A 36-year-old Fergus man is charged with driving while prohibited. He will appear in a Guelph court July 12. The truck was impounded for 45 days.
