TOWNSHIP OF CENTRE WELLINGTON - On June 29, 2018 approximately 8 a.m., Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a tire in a pond near a residence on Wellington Road 29 near Wellington Road 22, Township of Centre Wellington.
It was reported that a resident at the home heard an aircraft flying overhead just before hearing a large splash in the pond. The resident then went out to the pond and found a single tire floating in it.
Police attended and contacted Guelph Airport and Canada's Civil Air Navigation Services (NAV CAN) but could not identify any planes to have reported losing a tire or anything that might be related.
OPP continue to look into the matter.
