Vehicle stolen, break and enter

The following news releases have been issued by the Guelph Police Service:

At approximately 6:21 a.m. on Aug. 24a patron of a north-end Tim Horton’s parked his red 1988 Chevrolet CZ2 with black convertible roof in the lot and left it running while he went in to get his morning coffee. When he came out a minute or two later, he found that an unknown person had taken the car.

On Aug. 2 and 4, two adjacent Gordon St. buildings were broken into and two bicycles were stolen from a storage shed. The male suspect was recorded on video and later identified by police. At this time the bicycles have not been recovered.

On August 24, the Waterloo Regional Police advised that male suspect was in their custody for an unrelated matter and was given over to the Guelph Police Service.

The 26-year-old Guelph man is charged with break and enter, theft under $5000.00, possession of break and enter instruments and four counts of breach of probation. He will appear in Guelph bail today.
