The following news release was issued today by the Guelph Police Service:
Male arresterd for break in
On Feb. 13, 2020, at 11:24 p.m., members of the Guelph Police Service were dispatched to the area of fenced construction site located near the downtown core of the City of Guelph in regards to a break in.
Further investigation lead police to a nearby residence where an adult male was located with a stolen roll of electrical cable. He was subsequently arrested.
A 38 year old Guelph male has been charged with:
- Break And Enter Commit Theft
- Possession Of Stolen Property
- Fail To Comply Judicial Release Order x2
- Breach Probation Order x3
He was held in custody pending a bail hearing on Feb. 14.
Male arrested for numerous charges after downtown incident
Early on the morning of Dec. 20, 2019, an adult male was observed in an apartment building located in the downtown core of the City of Guelph prying open doors on each floor of the building. One of the key pads appeared to be stabbed with a sharp object. Approximate damage to the building was $8,000.
A warrant was issued for his arrest.
On Feb. 13, 2020, at 10:55 a.m., police located the male in the main stairwell of the same apartment building. He was subsequently arrested. A search incident to arrest revealed 0.03 grams of Fentanyl ($10 value) in his pocket.
A 33 year old Guelph male has been charged with:
- Forcible Entry
- Mischief Over $5,000
- Possession Schedule I
He was held in custody pending a bail hearing on Febr. 14.
Female arrested for shoplifting
On Feb. 11, 2020, at 8:30 p.m. an adult female was observed shoplifting $63.87 worth of merchandise from a business located in the Stone Road Mall of the City of Guelph.
On Febr. 13, at 9:59 a.m., police located the female in the downtown core of the City of Guelph. She was subsequently arrested.
A 26 year old Guelph female has been charged with:
- Theft Under $5,000
- Breach Of Probation x2
She will appear in court on March 27.
