Guelph Police responded to 234 calls for service

The following news releases were issued today by the Guelph Police Service:

Officers donate blood
On Jan. 30, 2020, after working a twelve hour day shift, eight frontline uniform members from C Platoon took the time to donate blood at Canadian Blood Services located at 103 Silvercreek Parkway North in the City of Guelph. This included one of Guelph Police Service’s newest members, Constable Nicholas Borg, making his first ever blood donation!

Male arrested for stealing magic cards
On Jan. 25, 2020, an adult male was observed shoplifting seven packs of Magic The Gathering playing cards valued at $339.60 from a business located near the intersection of Woodlawn Road West and Woolwich Street in the City of Guelph.

On Jan. 30, 2020, he turned himself in to the Guelph Police Service station and was arrested.

A 37-year-old Milton male has been charged with theft under $5,000

He will appear in court on March 10, 2020.

Brown Honda Civic stolen
Some time between 10 p.m. on Jan. 29 and 1:15 a.m. on Jan. 30, 2020, a brown 2010 four-door Honda Civic parked in the driveway of a residence located near the intersection of Eastview Road and Victoria Road North in the City of Guelph was taken.

On Jan. 30, 2020 at 1:50 a.m., police located the vehicle on the front lawn of a residential complex located in the same area. The vehicle was unoccupied but had extensive damage to the front end and the driver side air bag was deployed, as it had struck a tree.

Gold Dodge Journey stolen
Some time between 9 and 9:05 a.m. on Jan. 30, 2020, a gold 2010 Dodge Journey parked in the driveway of a residence located near the intersection of Auden Road and Grange Road in the City of Guelph was taken. The owner had left the vehicle running to heat it up before leaving.
