Guelph police are investigating after two employees of a downtown business were reportedly assaulted early Sunday.

Police were called just after 1 a.m. to a business on Wyndham Street North. Staff reported a male tried to bring a glass bottle outside which would violate the business’ liquor licence. The male was stopped and became aggressive, smashing a glass against the back of the employee’s head and causing it to bleed profusely.

A second employee intervened and the suspect punched her in the face. The male employee attended hospital for treatment.

The suspect is described as a white male, 25-30 years of age, six feet, 200 pounds, with dirty blonde hair in a ponytail and wearing shorts and a t-shirt.
