Police were called to a housing complex in the area of York Road and Watson Parkway North shortly after 8 p.m. The medical distress call attracted paramedics and firefighters, as well as police.

The victim, whose name hasn’t been released, was taken to an out-of-region hospital and succumbed to his injuries, stated Guelph Police Service spokesperson Scott Tracey.

Details about the male’s injuries and the nature of the incident haven’t been released.

“We’re still investigating,” Tracey said.

The accused, whose name was also not released, was found by police “a little later” still in the area, Tracey noted.

The males are known to each other, states a police news release.

“Guelph Police can confirm that there is no danger to the public,” it notes.
