A Guelph male was held for a bail hearing after allegedly threatening to kill several people over missing drugs, say police.

Approximately 2:45 p.m. Monday, police were called to a residence in the downtown area. A male resident had reportedly threatened to kill other residents after noticing some illegal narcotics had gone missing. Responding officers were advised the male keeps a bat in his room and entered the room unannounced for safety reasons.

A baseball bat with homemade wrist lanyard was found hanging near the door inside the room.

An 18-year-old Guelph male was arrested for uttering threats. He has a number of outstanding charges before the court including assault with a weapon and uttering death threats. He was held for a bail hearing Tuesday.
