Guelph man accused of defrauding bank of $35,000

On Nov. 21, 2018, Guelph Police began an investigation of a fraud at a bank on Speedvale Avenue East. A male party attended the bank many times throughout the month of November 2018 depositing forged cheques totalling $35,000. The male party withdrew funds causing a loss to the financial institution.

Steven Geremia, 48 years old of Guelph, was arrested for fraud over $5,000 and seven counts of uttering forged documents as a result of this investigation.

He is to appear in court on March 26, 2019.
