Guelph man arrested for murder Friday named

Nicholas Frost is charged with second-degree murder and committing an indignity to a dead body

A Guelph man charged in the city’s first homicide case of 2024 has been named.

Court documents show Nicholas Frost stands charged with second-degree murder and committing an indignity to a dead body, in connection with the death of a 62-year-old man reported missing in early December.

Human remains, confirmed to be of 62-year-old Mike Galizzi, were found in a green space off Carrington Place Feb. 1.

Frost, 27, was arrested and charged Friday. He'll appear in court virtually on Wednesday.

Police say the victim and accused were known to each other.

A publication ban is in place on potential evidence.
