Guelph man faces 33 charges in court today

A 28-year-old Guelph male had a bench warrant issued for him for the charges of assault, 12 counts of breaching his Probation Order, two counts of assault with intent to resist arrest, two counts of assault cause bodily harm, two counts of failing to comply with an undertaking, six counts of failing to comply with a recognizance and finally, assault peace officer.

There was also a warrant out for the male by Probation and Parole for breaching his Probation Order. The male was also wanted as his surety was revoked.

At approximately 9:10 p.m., Guelph Police received a call about a possible break and enter into a business on Dawson Road. Police attended to the area and located the male. When Police attempted to speak with the male, he took off running. After a brief foot chase, members of A Platoon and the Traffic Unit arrested the male on the strength of the warrants.

Further, the male was also charged with another three counts of breaching his Probation Order, and three more counts of breaching his Recognizance. The male is scheduled to appear in bail court on Nov. 6, 2018. In total, the male now has 33 charges before the courts.
