Guelph man faces charges after traffic stop south of Owen Sound

Weapons, allegedly stolen documents, and suspected controlled substances were seized during a traffic stop in Chatsworth.

On May 29, 2022, at 9:02 a.m., the Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a traffic complaint on Moto Park Road in the Township of Chatsworth.

Police located the motor vehicle and discovered stolen property. Both occupants of the motor vehicle were placed under arrest.   

The Grey Bruce OPP have charged Jeffrey Vigneau, 32 years old from Guelph, with the following offences:

  • Possession of firearm or ammunition contrary to prohibition order (four counts)
  • Forgery (four counts)
  • Possession of an identity document
  • Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000

The Grey Bruce OPP have also charged Tessara Reyes, 36 years old of no fixed address, with the following offences:

  • Forgery (four counts)
  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000
  • Possession of an identity document

Officers recovered several stolen identity documents, a quantity of suspected controlled substances and several weapons, including a black BB gun resembling a Glock handgun.

Both accused parties have been released, with a future court date at the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound.
