Believed to be the same men who backed a stolen vehicle into a store Thursday were the same ones caught on video earlier in the week in another smash-and-grab

Two Toronto-area men face a long list of charges after Guelph police interrupted a break and enter in progress Thursday morning.

Approximately 6:20 a.m. the owner of a business on Wellington Street West called police to report the break-in. Three men arrived in a stolen BMW SUV, which was reversed through the business’ front doors. The men then loaded approximately $10,000 worth of tools and copper wire into the rear of the BMW.

Officers arrived while the men were still on scene. One was placed under arrest inside the business while a second attempted to flee but was arrested nearby with the assistance of police dog Echo.

A third man, described as having brown skin, early 30s with a slim build and short black hair, is still outstanding.

Investigation revealed the two arrested men had also been involved in a break and enter earlier in the week at a Woodlawn Road West electronics store. In that incident, a glass door was smashed and suspects removed approximately $10,000 worth of equipment.

Two Toronto-area men, aged 32 and 31, are each charged with two counts of break and enter, possessing stolen property over $5,000 and possessing stolen property under $5,000. They were held for bail hearings Monday.
