Guelph Police respond to two break-ins and other incidents this weekend

Two men arrested for unrelated break ins, one arrested for disturbance at hospital and another arrested for impaired driving

On Sept. 1, 2017, at 4:13 p.m. Guelph Police were dispatched to a suspicious male call at a vacant building on Wyndham Street South that is scheduled for demolition. When the officers arrived they found that someone had removed the boarding that was used to secure the premise, and a male was located inside the building.

Julian Holman, 56 years of age of Guelph, was charged with break, enter and commit mischief under $5,000 and will appear in court in October.

On Sept. 1, 2017, at 6:15 p.m., a home owner returned to their residence on Kent Street in Guelph and found an unknown male inside. Guelph Police were called and the male was arrested.

A 32-year-old Guelph male was charged with break, enter and theft and two counts of breach probation. He was held for a bail hearing.

Disturbance – Arrest

On Sept. 3, 2017, at 10:53 a.m., Guelph Police were dispatched to a disturbance in the Emergency Department of the Guelph General Hospital at 115 Delhi Street in Guelph. Officers arrived and found that the responsible male had picked up a chair and threw it at the wall causing damage. The responsible male was arrested.

Nicholas Kissil, 28 years of age of Guelph, was charged with mischief under $5,000 and will appear in court in October.

Impaired Driving Arrest

On Sept. 1, 2017, at 2:53 a.m. Guelph Police stopped a vehicle on Victoria Road North in Guelph and arrested the driver for impaired driving.

Zachary Sprague, 20 years of age of Guelph, was charged with impaired driving and drive over 80 under the Criminal Code. He was further charged with novice driver BAC above zero and young driver BAC above zero s.44.1(2) under the Highway Traffic Act.

He will appear in court in September.
