Guelph police say arrested woman was in possession of 10K in drugs

The 25-year-old, who was wanted in another jurisdiction, also had a switchblade, bear spray and brass knuckles

A Toronto woman faces drug and weapons charges following her arrest in Guelph on Friday.

Approximately 9:25 p.m. officers were patrolling in a parking lot on Speedvale Avenue East when they spotted a rental vehicle associated to a woman known to be wanted by another police service. They saw the woman approaching the vehicle and arrested her on the warrant.

A search incident to arrest revealed quantities of suspected crystal methamphetamine, fentanyl and cocaine, a switchblade knife, bear spray, brass knuckles and several credit cards and identity documents in other people’s names. The controlled substances had an estimated value of $10,000.

A 25-year-old faces several counts of possessing a weapon and possessing controlled substances for the purpose of trafficking as well as possessing stolen property and  breaching court orders. She was held for a bail hearing Monday.
