Guelph woman charged with human trafficking

A Guelph woman faces human trafficking charges following an investigation by the joint Waterloo-Guelph Human Trafficking team.

The team comprised of members of the Waterloo Regional Police Service and Guelph Police Service received information in mid-February an adult female was being forced to participate in the sex trade at a Guelph apartment.

Investigation resulted in the arrest of a 26-year-old Guelph woman. She has been charged with human trafficking, procuring, receiving material benefit from human trafficking and uttering threats.

She will appear in a Guelph court March 25.
