Highway 7 closed after man falls from moving vehicle (Update: road now open)

He was taken to hospital with serious injuries

TOWSHIP OF GUELPH-ERAMOSA - Today at approximately 11:40 a.m., members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) along with the  Guelph-Wellington Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and Guelph-Eramosa Fire Department responded to report of a male being injured after falling from a moving vehicle.

Multiple witnesses report a male who was reportedly hanging onto the side of the vehicle which was travelling westbound on Highway 7, just west of Guelph, fell from the vehicle onto the road. The male was taken to a local hospital by EMS with serious injuries.

The driver of the vehicle involved did not stop. The vehicle is being described as a black SUV with roof racks and possibly having running boards.

Highway 7 between Woolwich-Guelph Townline and County Road 32 is closed while the investigation continues. More information will be released when it becomes available.
