Impaired driving charge for Guelph man who allegedly rear-ended city bus

The man's license was suspended for 90 days and his Lexus SUV has been impounded for seven days

A Guelph man faces impaired driving charges after a city bus was rear-ended Monday evening.

At 8:35 p.m. the Guelph Police Service received a report of a collision between a bus and a Lexus SUV at the intersection of Silvercreek Parkway North and Willow Road. A transit supervisor at the scene believed the male was impaired.

A 59-year-old Guelph male is charged with impaired driving and impaired driving – blood alcohol concentration. His driver’s license was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle impounded for seven days. He will appear in court January 29, 2021.

There were no injuries reported.
