Injured hunter found, rescued, using phone GPS

Guelph/Eramosa Township incident left hunter too injured to move and calling for help without a specific location for first responders

TOWNSHIP OF GUELPH/ERAMOSA - On Jan. 9, 2020 at approximately 8:30 a.m. Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a 911 call from an injured hunter on Third Line of Guelph/Eramosa Township.

It was reported that the caller had fallen from a tree-stand and was too injured to move. The injured party was unable to give call takers an exact location.
 
Emergency services responded and located the 54-year-old Guelph man using the Global Position System (G.P.S.) on his phone. He was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
