Investigation leads to child porn charges

A Burlington man faces child pornography charges related to an investigation which began in Guelph late last year, report police.

In December, the Guelph Police Service Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit began an investigation after receiving a tip about someone uploading materials to a social media platform.

A search warrant was executed at an address in the area of College Avenue West and Janefield Avenue and several devices were seized. As a result of the ongoing investigation a male turned himself in to police this week.

A 26-year-old Burlington male is charged with possessing child pornography, accessing child pornography and distributing child pornography. He will appear in a Guelph court July 15.
