A Guelph male faces charges after police say a knife was pulled during a roommate dispute Friday night.

Approximately 10:50 p.m. a male called 911 to report being threatened by someone inside his home near Clair Road West and Gordon Street. The caller advised he had returned home and began arguing with his roommate’s nephew, who pulled out a knife and threatened to hurt the caller while walking toward him.

The caller was able to lock himself in his bedroom and call 911.

Members of the Guelph Police Service Tactics and Rescue Unit responded and arrested the male without incident. A 30-year-old Guelph male is charged with assault with a weapon and uttering threats. He will appear in a Guelph court June 29.
