Three police cars and an ambulance remain on scene at the Guelph Public Library main branch following a death Tuesday.

The main branch of the Guelph Public Library will be closing at 1 p.m. today due to an unspecified incident that resulted in a death.

The death is not believed to be suspicious in nature at this time, a police spokesperson said.

"We did respond shortly before 11:30 a.m. today along with EMS and Guelph Fire. A male was located in medical distress and transported to the hospital, where unfortunately he was pronounced deceased," said police spokesperson Scott Tracey.

" At this point I am not aware of any reason to consider it suspicious and I believe the coroner will be taking over the investigation."

Access to library hold requests and programs will be unavailable. All other locations, however, will remain open.

Three police cars and an ambulance were on scene at 1 p.m. but were seen leaving around 1:30 p.m.

The branch is expected to reopen tomorrow at 9 a.m.
